Readings of the Day

Joshua 5.9-12

At last, after 450 years of wandering, Israel enters the promised land with great thanksgiving. Now begins the process of the conquest of the land.

2 Corinthians 5.16-21

Paul says, now that Christ has come, we regard no one "from a human point of view." This is Paul's classic statement of the "new creation" that is ours in Christ.

Luke 15.1-3, 11b-32

Jesus, criticized for "receiving sinners," tells one of his most memorable stories about the prodigal son, the boy who was lost and yet was received back by his father.

Each Sunday there are normally three services:

8:00 AM
A reflective communion service, beautiful and simple, with quiet fellowship for the early risers.

9:15 AM
A sung Eucharist using the modern language of the Book of Alternative Services.

11:00 AM
A traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer. Two Sundays each month there is a Matins service and on the remaining Sundays the service is a sung Eucharist.

On Vestry Sunday, and during the summer, the 9:15 and 11:00 services

are combined at 10:00.
