March 10, 17, and 24 - Lenten Programme of Evensong, a meal, and stimulating discussion
Like to read a book during Lent? Pick up Tokens of Trust by the Archbishop of Canterbury from the CHurch Office. The cost is $20. The Most Rev. Dr. Rowan Williams provides a fresh and engaging look at core Christian beliefs. Read it on your own schedule and meet weekly with others to reflect on a chapter per week over the Lenten season.
Wednesday evenings, Evensong begins at 6 pm (congregational on March 10 and 17, choral on the 24th) followed by a light supper in the Parish Hall at 6:45. Cost for supper is $7.50. The discussion follows in the Reception Room. Come for part or all of the evening!
March 11 -The Cariboo Group is hosting its annual Lenten meeting in the Reception Room on Thursday, March 11 at 7:15 for 7:30 pm. The special guest is The Reverend Canon Peter Walker, who will speak to us about his vision for the future of Grace Church on-the-Hill. All are invited to join us. March 29 - Having read their last book for the 2009-2010 season, Grace Church on-the-Hill Book And Film Group participants are planning to watch their last film. April 30 - Gershwin at Grace
Jake Fowell and his band, the York Jazz Ensemble, will present a programme of music by Gershwin at 7:30 pm. The band has played at Grace Church twice before to enthusiastic crowds who enjoy the 40's-style Big Band sound. Admission price $15 or $10 for students and seniors.
May 5 - Bishop's Company Dinner
Cocktails at 6 pm in the Church of the Holy Trinity, followed by dinner at 7 pm at the Toronto Marriott Hotel Eaton Centre. The spoeaker will be Mr. Don Morisson, Chief Operating Officer of the Blackberry Division of RIM, Research in Motion. Call the church office at 416-488-7884 to reserve a seat.Each seat is $175 and a table is $1400. Proceeds support the action and concerns of the Bishop Toronto.
May 8 - Grace Church Open Golf Day
With days getting longer, spring cannot be too far away and Saturday, May 8, has been set for the “Grace Church Open Golf Day” at the Westview Golf Club in Richmond Hill. Men and women players of all levels in the parish are invited to enjoy a nine or eighteen-hole tourney for a reasonable price, ending the day with a BBQ. Plans are currently underway.
