CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS!

Sunday School will reopen at the 9:15 service on Sunday, Sept. 13th. We are looking forward to welcoming new children and teachers. Children age 4 and up are to join us in the Library as we explore our Christian beliefs through enjoyable stories and activities. Children under 4 will be welcomed in the Sunday Nursery classroom.

Last season, the children of the Church School explored the themes of "The Wonders of God's Creation," "Angel Stories," "What life was like in the time of Mary and Joseph," "The Nativity," "Jesus' Miracles and Ministry," and "Holy Week and Easter" using a play based approach to learning. For the last part of this school year we explored some of Jesus' parables, using the "Godly Play" approach, which is play-based.

Francesca Mallin Parker, the Church School coordinator, has presented a new style of programming at the Sunday School this year, together with new teacher Laura Hendrickson.

Bring your children and we'll give them a warm welcome and a "learn through play" approach to Christian education. All children 4 and up are welcome at the Sunday School.

From September 13 onward, Sunday School will be offered only at the 9:15 service. Sunday Nursery for children under 4 years old will continue to be offered at both the 9:15 and 11 am services.

Each Sunday there are normally three services:

8:00 AM
A reflective communion service, beautiful and simple, with quiet fellowship for the early risers.

9:15 AM

A sung Eucharist using the modern language of the Book of Alternative Services.

11:00 AM
A traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer. Two Sundays each month there is a Matins service and on the remaining Sundays the service is a sung Eucharist.

On Vestry Sunday, and during the summer, the 9:15 and 11:00 services

are combined at 10:00.
